The challenge of making each successive LexiCon better than the last one is daunting. LexiCon 2012, the first conference, set a benchmark of excellence that required a Herculean effort to meet and surpass for 2013 - which by all reviews was accomplished. This could not have been done without the immeasurable help of so many people - Jeanne Guzman for her dedication to the brochure and the gift baskets. Nancy Pendleton for her assistance in sending out email updates and attendee drives. Evelyn Byrne with White Bird Publications - who showed faith and support for the confernce by being our Gold Level Sponsor. Andi Reis for being our Silver Level Sponsor and lining up several of our speakers, including keynote speaker Dave Lieber, who blew the audience away. And all the other speakers who selflessly took time out of their lives and made me look like a genius by doing such incredible jobs.
SPECIAL GUESTS - We had several special guests: Bridget Nye, 8 year old author of two published books, who acquired a new publisher at the event. Carissa Bookworm, a genius 12 year old blogger who reviews other writers and has a very bright future. And television and movie star Alex Cord was an integral part of a mystery/thriller writing roundtable discussion.
Every year, the week prior to the conference, I swear that I will never do another one, but the reaction I receive from the attendees convinces me to do it again. After much negotiating, LEXICON 2014 will be returning to the Hilton Garden Inn in Denton, Texas on July 11-13th. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE EARLY PAYMENT OPTION TAB UNDER CONTACT US.
